Insights

An insight is a saved visualization - a chart, a data table, or a single-value card - built by describing what you want in plain language, in Colrows AI or from a dataset. Save it, organize it, share it with a team, or publish it as a public link. A shared insight renders under each viewer's own access rules.

Create an insight

There are two ways to create one:

• From Colrows AI - on a chart or table answer, choose Save as Insight. Saved insights appear in the Insights panel.
• From a dataset, inside a dashboard - in a dashboard's edit mode, choose Add, then Insights with AI. Select a dataset, describe what you want in a prompt - "revenue by region for the last four quarters" - and click Generate. The prompt says which view you want. The generated view is saved with the dashboard.

An insight is one of three view types:

• Chart - line, bar, column, area, pie, or spline (see Charts).
• Data table - the rows, formatted and sortable.
• Card - a single headline number.

On a view generated from a dataset, use Update this view to refine it, and undo or redo your edits.

Save, organize, share

• Browse - open Insights from the left menu to see your insights and those shared with you. Rename an insight from its title.
• Share with specific Users or User groups, or turn on Public Share to publish a link that renders on a standalone page.
• Filter interactively - pick values to slice a saved view.
• Add to a dashboard - in a dashboard's edit mode, Add lists your saved insights.

Insights are the building blocks of dashboards: a dashboard is a layout of insights over one or more datasets.
